Cornerstone Chapel Counseling

And we urge, brothers, warn those who are idle, encourage the timid, help the weak, be patient with everyone. Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always try to be kind to each other and to everyone else. Be joyful always; pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.—1 Thessalonians 5:14-18

The counseling ministry provides the opportunity to personally attend to the needs of the individuals, the marriages and the families at Cornerstone Chapel. Personal loss, emotional pain, sin issues, spiritual growth and discipleship are all areas in which our Christian counseling ministry could be helpful. Secular counseling attempts to make life more manageable by creating personal wholeness apart from God. In contrast, the Christian counseling at Cornerstone Chapel encourages reliance on the resources that God has provided, including His love, grace, mercy and truth of His Word to glorify Him in the midst of our circumstances.

Anyone wanting an appointment is encouraged to call the church office at (703) 771-1500 or send an e-mail to counseling@cornerstonechapel.net. There are no fees for the counseling received at Cornerstone Chapel, however, a donation is suggested from individuals who do not regularly attend our church. Daytime and some evening appointments are available Monday through Friday.

Our church's approach to counseling is predominantly determined by an understanding of Scripture, which shapes our view of man, pain and hope in relation to God. It is the church's desire that the counseling ministry would play a vital role in the development of the spiritual community of believers that exists at Cornerstone Chapel.
