Mike Emerson - Assistant Pastor

Mike is a life-long resident of Northern Virginia. Prior to joining the Cornerstone staff on July 11, 2005, Mike was an assistant pastor and children's pastor in the Church of the Nazarene.

He became a follower of Jesus on Thursday, March 17, 1983. Mike understood he was being called into full-time ministry and began serving in and learning about many areas of local church ministry. His enthusiasm and excitement about Jesus comes through loud and clear as he strives to communicate the simple message of Jesus' love in ways that anyone can understand. Mike's life verse is Acts 20:24 (NLT) "...my life is worth nothing unless I use it for doing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus, the work of telling others the Good News about God's wonderful kindness and love."

His primary ministry responsibilities at Cornerstone include oversight of K-Groups, local outreach, evangelism, and discipleship.

Mike and Sharon have been married since 1979 and have three children - Kerri, Mike Jr., and Kristin.

Mike's personal interests include playing basketball, road cycling, fishing, and hiking.
